Recovering from physical rehabilitation has never been easier as St.Joseph Hospital opened its west side Physical and Sports Therapy on July 23, 2007. With the new location open, the rehabilitation office in the hospital has closed while the south side location will remain open. With two convenient locations, care is always nearby when you need it most.

- Instructions for activities of daily living, which can involve dressing, bathing and kitchen mobility.

Speech-Language Pathology
Speech and language pathologists evaluate and treat patients with communication disorders. Service areas and common diagnoses include:

Neurological Communication Disorders
- Aphasia – impairment of language affecting auditory comprehension, verbal expression, reading, writing and mathematical skills

Stroke Support
St.Joseph Physical and Sports Therapy is partnered with the American Heart Association to form a Howard County Stroke Support Group for stroke survivors and their families. The group meets the third Thursday of every month from 3 – 4:30 p.m. at St.Joseph Physical and Sports Therapy - Forest Park Classroom (2130 W. Sycamore St., Suite 140).
Education from our certified speech pathologists for the survivors and their families include:
- A better understanding of stroke recovery
- Rehabilitation and prevention of recurrent strokes
- Ability for stroke survivors to meet others with similar challenges and experiences
- A structured approach for caregivers and family members to share and support each other

Free Courtesy Van
Free courtesy van service is offered for rehabilitation patients; therefore, there is no need to miss a rehabilitation appointment if you do not have transportation.
