Stephen Kollias


Dr. Kollias earned his undergraduate degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana where he was a football star and earned a NCAA postgraduate scholarship. He earned his medical degree from University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois in 1989 and completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis in 1994. Dr. Kollias completed a fellowship in shoulder, sports medicine and arthroscopy at Southern California Orthopaedic Institute in Van Nuys, California. Dr. Kollias' primary specialty is orthopaedic surgery of the shoulder, knee, and ankle.


Dr. Kollias provides comprehensive sports medicine coverage to athletes of all ages and all sports interests. He has successfully treated athletes from Indiana and Illinois including champion stair climbers, runners, swimmers, and golfers as well as athletes who play football, basketball, volleyball, soccer and baseball. He recently provided sports medicine coverage in the Indianapolis area for the World Police and Fire Games and the Big Ten Women's' Basketball Championships. He was team physician for IUPUI soccer, swimming and tennis teams from 1997-2000 and currently is the team physician for Plainfield High school. Dr. Kollias frequently teaches specialized courses on arthroscopy as well as presenting orthopedic and sports medicine lectures at local and regional meetings.

He is a Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association.
