Franklin Wilson
Dr. Franklin Wilson was born and raised in Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. While attending Indiana University, he earned varsity letters in basketball from 1971-1973. During that time he was selected from the Big Ten All-Star team and earned Academic All American Team status. He continued his interest in sports and completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery at the Hughston Orthopedic Clinic in Columbus, Georgia with Dr. James Andrews. Dr. Wilson specializes in shoulder and knee surgery and arthroscopic surgery.
Dr. Wilson is recognized as one of the leading sports medicine authorities. His is a qualified consultant to the National Football League Player's Association, the U. S. Olympic Committee and is the local consultant to the U. S. Olympic Training Center for Diving at the Natatorium. His presentations and publications have focused on subjects such as the "pitcher's elbow", treatment of the athletic knee and arthroscopic surgical techniques involving the shoulder. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
