In the pre-operative area, all necessary forms will be completed. You will be asked to change into your surgery gown. Any additional testing ordered by your surgeon will be completed. Before surgery, you will have an opportunity to speak with your anesthesiologist. Be sure to tell your anesthesiologist if you have eaten or taken any medication within eight hours of surgery. From here, you will be taken to your surgery suite. Dentures, hearing aids, glasses, etc., should be removed at this time.
Your family may accompany you as far as the surgery waiting area. They should remain in the waiting room until your procedure is completed so your surgeon can talk with them. |
