Wounds that resist healing can lead to many complications, including infection, sepsis, hospitalization, deformities, amputation, or decrease in function. Lengthy treatments can be very frustrating for patients.
Our philosophy at the St.Vincent Wound Care Treatment Center is to treat wounds as early and as efficiently as possible to minimize costs and complications and optimize outcomes.
|
Our team of medical specialists is trained to manage all types of wounds. Our clinic is co-managed by Jodie Harper, M.D., C.W.S. and Anthony Miller, D.P.M., whose combined experience includes geriatrics, advanced wound treatment and diabetic foot care. This expertise is the reason that our clinic can provide the evaluation, management and treatment necessary to achieve exceptional outcomes for chronic wound patients.

Advanced Capabilities
We provide diagnostic studies and carefully evaluate each patient before determining the appropriate therapy plan. Our facility has advanced treatments for wound care including specialized dressings and bioengineered living skin equivalents for grafting. Beginning in March of 2006 we will also provide Hyperbaric Oxygen Medicine (HBO).
|

Hyperbaric Oxygen Medicine (HBO) has been proven to speed the healing process. To see if you qualify for this treatment please call 317-338-9000.
|
HBO involves placing a patient in a chamber and breathing 100% oxygen which is under greater pressure than normal air. HBO is helping to resolve a growing number of difficult, expensive and otherwise hopeless medical problems. In addition to the wounds listed above, HBO has also been approved to treat:
- Non-healing skin grafts
- Refractory Osteomyelitis
- Carbon monoxide poisoning
- Anemia caused by blood loss
- Necrotizing soft tissue infection
Referring physicians receive regular updates on treatment recommendations and results.
Our facility is accessible to all patients with free, convenient parking and a location on the Indianapolis bus route. There are no stairs to manage. Insurance generally covers the cost of most wound treatments.
