Application Process
Thank you for your interest in St. Vincent‘s Continuing Medical Education program! The following instructions have changed to accommodate the new ACCME criteria. Please know we will process the application by the next business day. If you would like to apply for additional credit for other areas of practice, you may contact the following:

APPLY: Applications for large annual programs (6+hours) should be received approximately 6 months in advance. Applications for annual programs ranging 2-5 hours in length should be received 3 months prior to the program. Regularly Scheduled Series should apply at least one month prior to the first session. Applications received after these time periods are subject to be denied by the CME Committee.
Joint Sponsorship applies when the facility applying for CME credit is not accredited by the ACCME or ISMA and is using St. Vincent’s accreditation to offer CME credit.
AGENDA: An agenda must be submitted with the application.
NEEDS ASSESSMENT: The needs assessment must identify the gaps in clinical or organizational practice to be addressed with this program. The ultimate goal is to identify barriers and look for ways to improve physician competence by increasing knowledge applied in a hospital setting. This section on the application fulfills this need; however, for a series such as grand rounds, a needs assessment form must be completed for each session of a Regularly Scheduled Series.
OBJECTIVES: The learning objectives must communicate the purpose and relate to the identified needs assessment of the program so that the learner is informed before participating. At least 2 objectives per hour of presentation are required.
OUTCOME ASSESSMENT: If a pre/post test is selected, the director or planner of the activity is required to obtain from the presenter(s) at least 1 question per objective to be used for a pre/post test. The questions must reflect that the physician is able to APPLY the knowledge learned. Other options, in place of pre/post tests, are available.
Following approval, you will receive all necessary CME forms.
Do NOT publicize CME credit hours until the program has been approved.
