St. Vincent Interventional Radiologists (IRs), also known as vascular interventional radiologists, provide targeted, minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system. IRs use MRI, imaging and x-rays to advance a catheter in the body, usually through an artery. These procedures treat the source of the disease internally; shrinking tumors, dissolving blood clots, removing blockages, placing catheter-delivered stents, and establishing ports for chemotherapy and medication delivery. IRs are part of many multidisciplinary teams including cardiovascular, cancer, women's health, dialysis, and pediatric care. IRs also see patients in the Interventional Radiology clinic for outpatient procedures and consults.

These physicians and St. Vincent are also one of the national research sites for the ATTRACT clinical trial which is investigating the use of different catheters to improve the delivery of clot-busting medications.
