In athletic competition, as little as 2% dehydration can decrease performance by 10%. Improper nutrition can have similar effects. Led by our on-site sports dietician, our performance nutrition program offers first-class services including ongoing assessments, nutritional planning and education to help athletes reach their fullest potential.
Throughout the program, athletes receive numerous body composition assessments and individual nutrition consultations to discuss specific nutrition goals. Athletes will leave with a report on their body composition progressions over the course of training.
Based on the results of individual athlete assessments, nutritional plans for all phases of training (pre-workout, workout, and post-workout) are designed to help meet individual performance goals. Our sports dietician designs nutritious meals, quick snacks, hydrating drinks and replenishing supplements to give athletes the fuel they need.
Our sports dietician also teaches the above nutrition concepts to St. Vincent Sports Performance athletes in small group workshops so they can continue to properly fuel their bodies after leaving our facilities. Athletes learn proper hydration techniques, game-day nutrition, supplement do's and don'ts – and they even get a grocery store tour to educate them on products that maximize athletic performance. Whether it’s weight gain, weight loss or maintenance, our nutrition-training program gets athletes the results needed to achieve and maintain success.
"We ran the Wineglass Marathon in Corning, NY this past past weekend, and after implementing your water/nutrition plan, I have to tell you WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I was only able to train 5 weeks for the marathon, usually I do 24-30 weeks. After finding out what to eat & drink, it was like an ace in the hole, like a whole new world! I can't wait to try it when I'm actually trained!!"Amateur Marathon Runner
"Lindsay was instrumental in making the change for our teen athlete. She included our daughter in decision making, in foods for her plan, and in understanding her nutritional needs. It was all very well received. I would recommend her to any child, teen, or adult, athlete or otherwise."Parent of a High School Runner
