Richard Ashby began his physician recruiting career in 1989 and brings a wealth of physician recruiting, physician relations and healthcare experience to St. Vincent Medical Group. Prior to joining SVMG, Richard was president of Intercede Health Physicians, the provider recruiting division of Intercede Health, a medical management and consulting company based in TX. Richard is a graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Now that he has returned to the Hoosier state, he pursues many outside activities, including gardening, playing guitar and tennis. He is a voracious reader and gourmet cook “wannabe”. Richard is also a member of the National Association of Physician Recruiters (NAPR).
David Clingan has more than 13 years of associate and physician recruiting experience, all with The Care Group and St. Vincent Medical Group. He also has more than 20 years of experience recruiting for a wide variety of positions in Central Indiana. In June 2011, he helped to create and develop the in-house physician and provider recruitment and on-boarding program for St. Vincent Medical Group. As a native of Covington, IN, graduate of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, and current resident of Indianapolis, David is very familiar with all things Hoosier. In his spare time, David is an active volunteer for several animal rescue groups, ISU and he also enjoys traveling, the outdoors and reading. David belongs to the Indiana Society of Physician Recruiters (INSPR) and is active in the Marketing and Sponsorship Committees. He is also a member of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR).
Mona Hansen has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining the St. Vincent Medical Group in March 2012, she worked as a Physician Recruitment Consultant with Suburban Health Organization in Indianapolis. She also has experience in the areas of Physician Recruitment and Human Resources Management at a large healthcare system in the Upper Midwest. Mona is a member of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR) and the Indiana Society of Physician Recruiters (INSPR). She is also a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Mona has a solid understanding of the healthcare environment and enjoys building strong relationships with physicians, hospitals and practices throughout the state.
Melanie Bell joined the St. Vincent Medical Group Physician Recruitment team in April 2013 as a Provider Sourcing Specialist and moved into the Advanced Practice Provider Recruiter roll in Decemeber 2014. Melanie began her career with St. Vincent in December of 2011 as a Patient Coordinator for the GYN Oncology Practice. Melanie has worked in several different fields enabling her to bring years of relationship-building experience to the team. Her knowledge of Central and Southern Indiana territories in a variety of sales positions has allowed her to gain strong knowledge of these geographical areas. Melanie earned her BA in Exercise Science and Wellness at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as enjoying warm-weather outdoor activities.Currently, she belongs to the Indiana Society of Physician Recruiters (INSPR).
Janet Hedlund joined the St. Vincent Medical Group Physician Recruitment Team in March 2012. She began her career with St. Vincent Health in early 2011. She brings to the team over 20 years of experience in the areas of Human Resources Management, Office Administration and Project Management. She also has considerable experience in both start-up and merger/acquisition work with local managed healthcare organizations and national health insurers. Born in Michigan, Janet is proud to be a “transplanted” Hoosier. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as cooking and gardening in her free time. She is dedicated to a focus that ensures a successful and rewarding customer service experience. Janet is also a member of the Indiana Society of Physician Recruiters (INSPR).

Yes, St. Vincent Medical Group will pay for your interview expenses. This typically includes flight/mileage/hotel/rental car/food, etc. (excluding alcohol) for the time you are in town interviewing for a St. Vincent Medical Group opportunity.
Though most interviews can be completed in one day, at times we do ask that you be here 1.5 or 2 full days. Depending on the opportunity, many times this extra time allows you to have dinner with your potential future practice partners, which is a great way for you to get to know each of them in a more casual setting than a formal interview!
Yes, St. Vincent Medical Group does typically pay for a new physician’s or provider’s relocation costs (exceptions may include if you are already local, or if you are only available for 1-2 years due to a spousal career or future fellowship plans of your own, etc.) Your Physician Recruiter will notify you of the relocation policy (and specific budget) for your move, should things proceed with your candidacy
