St. Vincent Dunn has been serving Lawrence County and the surrounding area for more than 100 years with our commitment to caring for the whole patient—body, mind and spirit.
Health awareness and prevention are core to the community outreach of the hospital. Our commitment to caring is infused in community-related activities, including programs that are educational, informative, and make a positive impact on area residents. Some of these programs impact health directly while others affect health indirectly by improving quality of life.
Our community events and programs are divided into these key areas:
Programs we participate in are not sponsored by a single department or division, but engage St. Vincent Dunn associates and clinicians.
Check out our Community Benefit Reports to see how St. Vincent has served your community through the programs and donations they have provided.
We understand that medical expenses are often unexpected and even if you carry insurance, the “out-of-pocket” expense can be significant. The financial assistance program at St. Vincent Dunn was designed to help our community members in their time of need. It is designed to help cover all or a portion of the hospital bill based on financial resources.
St. Vincent Dunn does not receive any county support. Our program is based solely on our commitment to you, our patient.
Our program is designed to help you with your financial obligation; however, we need your cooperation and participation to make this program work for you. If you choose not to take advantage of this program by not supplying the requested information by the indicated date, we will assume you intend to pay your obligation in full.

St. Vincent Dunn sponsors the Community Health and Wellness Center, which provides needed healthcare and support to those in the community with little or no insurance. Though Dunn is the clinic's sponsor, the clinic is funded by grants from the Indiana State Department of Health's Office of Primary Care, Division of Maternal and Child Health and the federal WIC Program. Together, we offer accessible healthcare for our community.
