The St. Vincent Neighborhood hospital, 9613 E. Hwy 36, Avon, opened today and will specialize in 24/7 emergency services and inpatient care. The 17,000 square foot facility will include seven emergency beds, eight inpatient beds, imaging, pharmacy and lab services.
The opening of neighborhood hospitals is part of St. Vincent's strategy to provide high quality care to patients that provides shorter wait times and is closer to their homes. Patients being treated at St. Vincent's neighborhood hospital can expect to be seen within 15 minutes of their arrival. These hospitals have the capabilities to treat acute injuries or illnesses that require emergency care as well as inpatient services. In addition, patients will receive the same compassionate and personalized care that they've become accustomed to by St. Vincent Neighborhood hospital physicians and registered nurses.
"Our first Neighborhood Hospital is exceeding expectations," said Dr. Richard Fogel, Chief Clinical Officer, St. Vincent. "More than 90% of survey participants have given us a 5-star rating in patient satisfaction and we expect the Avon community to have the same experience."
Plans are underway to open additional neighborhood hospitals in Plainfield within the next couple of weeks and Castleton the following month. For more information about our neighborhood hospitals visit www.stvincentneighborhoodhospital.org.
