New ONLINE seminar available or attend one of the 90-minute Group Seminars held weekly.
If you have tried repeatedly to lose weight without success, learn from the experts at the St.Vincent Bariatric Center. We’ll present proven medical treatments and discuss the risks and benefits, as well as the commitment needed to achieve sustained weight loss. Bariatric surgery along with medically supervised weight loss has demonstrated the highest rate of sustainable weight loss compared to dieting or exercise alone.
Our staff invites you (and your spouse or companion) to learn about the St.Vincent Bariatric Care approach and the difference it can make. This information is for you to learn and ask questions. After the seminar, you will have the option to schedule a consult with one of our Bariatric surgeons to discuss your personal goals and needs.
Please note that only the Seminars/Consultations scheduled at the Center have a physician present which allows a patient the option to move forward in the process*. Meeting with a Surgeon one-on-one will result in a specialty office fee being charged.
*Process can be very different for patients. Recommendations, test results, insurance coverage, etc. can be factors determining if an individual is an appropriate candidate for surgery.
Bariatric Surgeon – “I hear patients say, ”I’ve tried everything under the sun and nothing is working.” So let’s put this challenge it into perspective. Individuals who struggle with obesity have a treatable disease, but you need to understand all of your options. It’s a fact that obese adults have a shorter lifespan (by 10-15 years or more) because the excessive weight takes its toll on all body parts and contributes to the progression of many diseases – such as diabetes, heart disease, lung function, renal disease, even cancer. Yes, better food choices and behavior modification are keys, but our cravings and appetite are fueled by the chemicals in our stomach and those can be suppressed with bariatric surgery. Gastric bypass, for example, is the gold standard of all bariatric procedures and has the most enduring record for maximum excessive weight loss. Today, bariatric surgery is the most relevant for individuals with a BMI of 40 or higher (that’s an average of 100# over normal weight). The bariatric approach is also an effective option for individuals who are overweight with a BMI between 30-39. Surgery may or may not be an option, you can find out more by scheduling a private consultation with one of our bariatric surgeons. This is about creating “A brand new life” that is healthier and happier.”
