St. Vincent Heart Center has been named as a Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital for Seventh Year
INDIANAPOLIS — St. Vincent Heart Center's partnership with Hancock Health, Greenfield, Indiana; Henry Community Health, New Castle, Indiana; and Riverview Health, Noblesville, Indiana, continues to expand their local cardiac programs. This partnership supports continued availability of excellent cardiac services to people close to their home with a team of world-renowned St. Vincent cardiologists and advanced practice providers caring for them in their local community. In addition, people in each community have greater direct access to the nationally recognized St. Vincent Heart Center. As partners, the hospitals will work together to explore opportunities for new and innovative programs in the local communities.
"We are pleased that our long standing partnership with the St. Vincent Heart Center has been taken to a new level with this integrated approach to heart care in Hancock County," said Steve Long, President and CEO of Hancock Health. "This program allows access to the same high-quality cardiac services provided on the main campus of the Heart Center, but right here in Greenfield, close to home and loved ones."
As one of the largest and most comprehensive heart care programs in the Midwest, St. Vincent Heart Center is also among the most decorated in the nation. For the seventh time since 2006, the St. Vincent Heart Center has been named one of the nation's 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals, according to the IBM Watson Health (formerly Truven Health Analytics) 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals 2018 study. In addition, the Heart Center is the only cardiac hospital in Indiana to earn a five-star rating - the highest for quality - from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The St. Vincent Heart Center is a member of Ascension, the nation's largest not-for-profit Catholic healthcare system, and possesses a comprehensive heart and vascular care program, which includes national and internationally renowned cardiovascular specialists. These physicians and providers deliver the highest quality cardiovascular care every day in addition to participating in advanced cardiovascular research to pioneer better treatments and therapies that are then quickly available to Indiana patients with complex heart conditions.
"For years, the cardiologists practicing at our accredited chest pain center have been affiliated with both St. Vincent and Riverview Health, so this new integration strengthens our outstanding partnership," said Seth Warren, President and CEO of Riverview Health. "We are so proud to be able to provide comprehensive cardiac care to our patients in Hamilton County."
With rising healthcare costs and greater demands for quality outcomes, these partnerships are not new in the healthcare industry. Through the partnership, all parties will work together to improve the efficiency of care across the organizations while providing the highest quality care available in Indiana.
"Henry Community Health has enjoyed a close relationship with St. Vincent Heart Center since 2012 when cardiologists from St. Vincent began seeing patients at Henry County Cardiology in New Castle," related Paul Janssen, President and Chief Executive Officer at Henry Community Health. "We look forward to this continuing partnership as it has provided our community with outstanding local cardiology care as well as providing a seamless access to St Vincent Heart Center for patients who need more complex cardiovascular care," Janssen continued.
"Many of our physicians have had a presence in these communities for several years and have a great working relationship with each of the hospitals and local physicians," said Blake Dye, President of St. Vincent Heart Center. "The staff at these three hospitals has seen the dedication our physicians have to the patients and communities and this new relationship will only enhance the care and access for their patients," added Dye.
